3 Gorges boat trip

We've had the dubious pleasure of going down what some are calling the largest toilet in the world! a.k.a. the 3 Gorges Yangzti River boat trip. We actually enjoyed it (although I can't say I'd want to repeat it!) in spite of the rat and giant cockroach in our room, the nasty smelling bathroom and showering in very questionable water, we met some great people on the boat. There were 3 Chinese girls that kind of adopted us as aunt & uncle on the boat. They were really kind to us and helped us along with things we didn't understand. There was another Canadian, an American and other Europeans that we got to know, as well as some other Chinese people, including Mao Mao who was a tour guide on the boat. Some other highlights were the lesser 3 Gorges boat trip (the water was green here, not brown, we saw some monkeys and nice views), a spectacular Chinese performance in Yishang, meeting Mao a taxi driver in Yishang that was really nice to us, going through a boat lock, seeing the largest dam in the world, hanging out with a family from England while in Yishang and going to the 3 caves together.
