Beijing

Our trip to Beijing was kind of crazy. We'd been woken up at 4:30 a.m. on the boat (to let us know they'd wake us up at 5:00 a.m.??). After a long, but good day - we'd spent the day with a family from England (we met on the boat and we both had the day to kill before our evening flights) - we arrived at Yichang airport. The airport was brand new and surrounded by cows (I thought about that as we headed down the runway in the dark!). Our flight was delayed 1 hour, then we hit major traffic (construction, accident). Our driver got lost trying to get around it. Finally we arrived at our hotel/hostel (to the left is our room), the Red Lantern House after 2 a.m. This place has great atmosphere, really nice. This day was a do nothing day, but we're in Beijing!
